We canʻt wait for August 1st!
Weʻre excited to announce that Native Hawaiian Author Lehua Parker will be presenting our moʻolelo for Maui. Lehua is an alumni of the Kamehameha Schools and is the author of the exciting Niuhi Shark Saga. Definintely not to be missed!
To update, we are presenting the moʻolelo in genealogical order, meaning that moʻolelo from Hawaiʻi Island will be presented first, followed by Maui, Oʻahu and Kauaʻi, and are excited to share with everyone!
We hope youʻve all got your calendars marked to join us on August 1st. To update we are excited to have Kupuna Carol Johnson share moʻolelo about her one hānau, Kauaʻi, complete with a power point presentation. Kūpunaʻs heart has never left her beloved Kauaʻi and her connection and passion for the sands of her birth are readily apparent in her hula, singing, and ʻano.
Please note that when you enter the park, please let the rangers know that you are with the Hawaiian Civic Clubs event and you will be able to enter for free.
Weʻll post more information as we get closer to the event, but please if you have any questions or would like to volunteer to assist, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or text/call 801-913-8980.
